CHAPTER

VERSE

8

मय्येव मन आधत्स्व मयि बुद्धिं निवेशय।
निवसिष्यसि मय्येव अत ऊर्ध्वं न संशयः || 12.8 ||

Mayyeva mana ādhatsva mayi buddhiṁ niveśaya।
Nivasiṣyasi mayyeva ata ūrdhvaṁ na saṁśayaḥ।।

Place your mind in me alone, place your intellect in me, and then you will indeed live in me alone. There is no doubt about it.

Lesson:

This verse from the Bhagavad Gita tells us to focus our thoughts and understanding on God. It says we should put our mind and intellect into God. By doing this, it tells us we will live in God. It's like saying, if we think about God and understand His teachings, we'll feel close to Him.

The verse is saying that when we dedicate our thoughts and intelligence to God, we'll feel a strong connection with Him. It's like being in the presence of someone you deeply admire and respect. When you focus your attention on that person, it feels like you're with them, even if they're not physically there.

The verse also reassures us that when we devote ourselves to God in this way, there's no need to doubt. It's like saying, "Trust in God and believe that He will take care of everything." It's a message of faith and confidence in the power of divine love and guidance.

In simpler terms, the verse is teaching us to turn our minds and intellect towards God, to think about Him and His teachings. When we do this, we'll feel like we're living in His presence, and we can trust that He will take care of us. It's about finding peace and fulfillment through a deep connection with the divine.
