शाश्वतस्य च धर्मस्य सुखस्यैकान्तिकस्य च || 14.27 ||

Brahmaṇo hi pratiṣṭhāham amṛtasyāvyayasya ca।
Śāśvatasya ca dharmasya sukhasyaikāntikasya ca॥

I am the basis of the eternal, imperishable, and immutable Brahman, of eternal righteousness, and of unending joy.

Lesson:

Lord Krishna is explaining His divine nature and attributes. He declares Himself as the foundation of Brahman, the ultimate reality, which is eternal, indestructible, and unchanging. Brahman represents the supreme essence or cosmic principle underlying the universe, and Krishna asserts that He is the essence and support of this eternal reality.

Furthermore, Krishna affirms His role as the source of eternal righteousness or dharma. Dharma refers to the natural order, moral law, and duty that govern the universe and human conduct. By proclaiming Himself as the basis of dharma, Krishna emphasizes His authority in upholding righteousness and guiding beings along the path of moral and ethical conduct.

Additionally, Krishna asserts His connection to unending joy or sukha. He is the source of supreme happiness and bliss that transcends the temporary pleasures of the material world. This joy is not dependent on external circumstances or fleeting experiences but arises from a deep spiritual connection with the divine.

Through this verse, Krishna reveals His divine nature as the foundation of Brahman, the embodiment of eternal righteousness, and the source of unending joy. He invites devotees to recognize His omnipresent and omnipotent presence in the universe and to seek refuge in Him for ultimate fulfilment and spiritual liberation.
