With your mind intent on Me, surrender all your actions to Me, have Me as your supreme goal, and with your intellect fixed on Me, you will live in Me alone, Arjuna.

Lesson:

Krishna instructs Arjuna to surrender all his actions (karma) to the divine and fix his mind and intellect on him. By cultivating unwavering devotion and surrendering to the divine will, Arjuna can attain union with the supreme consciousness. He emphasizes the importance of directing one's mind towards him (matparaḥ) and surrendering all actions unto him (mayi sannyasya). Surrendering to the divine implies relinquishing the egoistic sense of agency and acknowledging the omnipresence and omnipotence of the divine in all actions and endeavours.

The term "buddhiyogamupāśritya" refers to fixing one's intellect on the divine through the practice of yoga. By cultivating wisdom, discernment, and spiritual intelligence, one can attain union with the divine consciousness. Through the path of buddhi yoga, individuals align their thoughts and actions with divine will, leading to inner harmony and spiritual satisfaction.

Krishna encourages Arjuna to make him the supreme goal (matparaḥ) of his life. By prioritizing devotion to the divine above all else, Arjuna can transcend the limitations of the ego and realize his inherent unity with the supreme consciousness. This devotion enables one to experience divine grace and guidance in every aspect of life.

Furthermore, Krishna assures Arjuna that by fixing his mind and intellect on him (macchittaḥ), he will live in him alone (satataṁ bhava). This implies a state of constant communion with the divine, where every thought, word, and action is infused with divine consciousness. By dwelling in the divine presence, individuals experience inner peace, joy, and peace beyond the transient pleasures of the material world.

This verse encapsulates the essence of bhakti yoga, the path of loving devotion and surrender to the divine. It highlights the transformative power of cultivating unwavering faith, devotion, and surrender in one's spiritual practice. Through surrendering all actions to the divine, fixing the mind and intellect on the supreme consciousness, and making the divine the supreme goal of life, one can attain union with the ultimate reality and experience the eternal bliss of divine communion.

In essence, this verse from the Bhagavad Gita serves as a guiding light for seekers on the path of spiritual evolution. It inspires individuals to cultivate unwavering devotion, surrender, and wisdom, leading to the realization of their inherent unity with the divine and the attainment of supreme peace and liberation.
