Tadviddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā।
Upadekṣhyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninas tattvadarśhinaḥ॥

Learn about this by humble reverence, by inquiry, and by service. The wise, who have realized the Truth, will impart wisdom to you.

Lesson:

Providing the guidance to Arjuna on how to attain true wisdom, Lord Krishna advises him to approach knowledgeable teachers with humility, respect, and a willingness to learn. This humble attitude, known as pranipāta, involves surrendering one's ego and acknowledging the wisdom of the teacher. It opens the door for receiving knowledge without arrogance or preconceived notions.

Krishna also encourages Arjuna to engage in thoughtful inquiry, known as paripraśhna. Asking relevant questions and seeking clarification is essential for deepening understanding and resolving doubts. Through active engagement and critical thinking, one can gain insights into spiritual truths and broaden their perspective.

Additionally, Krishna emphasizes the importance of selfless service, or sevayā, to the teacher. By offering assistance and support with devotion and dedication, one creates a conducive environment for learning. Service fosters humility, purifies the heart, and cultivates a spirit of gratitude and receptivity.

By following these three practices—humility, inquiry, and service—one can seek wisdom from enlightened teachers. Krishna assures Arjuna that those who have realized the ultimate Truth will impart genuine wisdom to sincere seekers. Through the guidance of such enlightened beings, seekers can progress on their spiritual journey, attain deeper insights, and ultimately realize the essence of existence.
