O Partha, with a mind attached to Me, practicing yoga with Me as the refuge, know Me alone without doubt, fully, and hear how this can be done.

Lesson:

Krishna instructs Arjuna on the path of yoga and devotion (bhakti), emphasizing the importance of cultivating a mind devoted to the divine. Krishna encourages Arjuna to immerse himself in the practice of yoga, with complete surrender and dedication to the Supreme Being.

Krishna addresses Arjuna as Partha, a term of endearment derived from his mother Pritha's name, emphasizing their close relationship. He urges Arjuna to develop a mind (manāḥ) firmly attached (āsaktam) to Him (mayyā), indicating a deep and unwavering devotion to the divine.

The practice of yoga involves uniting the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness, and Krishna invites Arjuna to engage in this practice with Him as the ultimate refuge (madāśrayaḥ). By surrendering to the divine and seeking refuge in Him, Arjuna can navigate the complexities of life with clarity and guidance.

Krishna assures Arjuna that by cultivating such devotion and practicing yoga with Him as the focal point, Arjuna can attain complete knowledge and realization of the Supreme Being without any doubt (asaṁśayaṁ). This implies a state of unwavering faith and clarity of understanding, where all doubts and uncertainties are dispelled.

Furthermore, Krishna emphasizes the importance of knowing Him fully (samagraṁ māṁ) and invites Arjuna to listen attentively to His instructions (tacchṛṇu). Through listening to Krishna's teachings and following the path of devotion and yoga, Arjuna can gain a comprehensive understanding of the divine nature and establish a deep connection with the Supreme.

This verse underscores the significance of devotion, surrender, and the practice of yoga as essential components of the spiritual journey. It encourages seekers to cultivate a deep and intimate relationship with the divine, seek refuge in Him, and pursue the path of self-realization with unwavering faith and dedication.
