CHAPTER

VERSE

15

न मां दुष्कृतिनो मूढा: प्रपद्यन्ते नराधमा: |
माययापहृतज्ञाना आसुरं भावमाश्रिता: || 7.15 ||

Na māṁ duṣhkṛitino mūḍhāḥ prapadyante narādhamāḥ
Māyayāpahṛitajñānā āsuraṁ bhāvam āśritāḥ ||

Those of wicked deeds, the ignorant, the lowest of men, do not turn to me; they whose wisdom is stolen away by illusion, embodying a demonic nature.

Lesson:

There are different categories of individuals who fail to surrender to Shri Krishna due to their distorted understanding and alignment with negative qualities. He refers to them as "duṣhkṛitino," meaning those who perform evil deeds or have malicious intentions. These individuals, categorized as "mūḍhāḥ" or foolish, lack spiritual discernment and are easily swayed by worldly illusions and delusions. They are described as "narādhamāḥ," the lowest among humanity, indicating their regression from the path of righteousness.

The reason for their inability to surrender to the divine is attributed to the influence of "māyā," the illusory energy that clouds their judgment and veils their true perception. Their wisdom is "āpahṛita," stolen or deprived by this illusion, leading them to adopt an "āsuraṁ bhāva," a demonic or ungodly nature. They become absorbed in materialistic pursuits, driven by ego, desires, and selfishness, which obstruct their path towards spiritual enlightenment.

Lord Krishna's message in this verse underscores the importance of discernment and wisdom in recognizing the divine truth and surrendering to it. He highlights the consequences of succumbing to delusion and ignorance, emphasizing the need to transcend worldly distractions and align with higher spiritual principles for true liberation and enlightenment.
