Whichever divine form (deity) a devotee wishes to worship with faith, I stabilize their faith in that form.
Lesson:
This verse teaches that the essence of worship lies in the sincerity, faith, and devotion of the worshipper rather than the specific form or deity being worshipped. It emphasizes the universal principle that sincere devotion and unwavering faith lead to spiritual growth, inner transformation, and ultimately, union with the divine.
Krishna explains how he responds to the faith and devotion of his devotees who worship various deities and forms. He assures that regardless of the form or deity chosen for worship, if a devotee worships with sincerity and faith, he stabilizes and strengthens that faith. He says that whichever form or deity (yo yo yāṁ yāṁ tanuṁ) a devotee desires to worship (bhaktaḥ śraddhayārcitumicchati), he, as the Supreme Being, acknowledges and accepts that devotion. This emphasizes the inclusive nature of Hindu spirituality, where devotees have the freedom to choose and worship various forms of the divine according to their personal preferences, inclinations, and cultural backgrounds.
Krishna further assures that he personally stabilizes and strengthens the faith (tasya tasyācalāṁ śraddhāṁ) of such devotees. Regardless of the specific form or deity chosen for worship, Krishna ensures that the devotee's faith remains steadfast and unwavering. This highlights Krishna's compassion and responsiveness to the sincere devotion of his devotees, regardless of the diversity of their worship practices.
Overall, this verse highlights the all-encompassing and compassionate nature of Krishna's divine presence, where he lovingly accepts and responds to the sincere devotion and faith of his devotees, irrespective of the form or deity they choose to worship. It inspires devotees to cultivate unwavering faith, devotion, and sincerity in their spiritual practices, knowing that Krishna lovingly accepts and supports them on their spiritual journey.
