Ahmed Chalabi was an Iraqi politician and key figure in the opposition to Saddam Hussein's regime. He played a significant role in advocating for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, providing intelligence that was later found to be controversial and inaccurate. Chalabi held various positions in the post-invasion Iraqi government and was known for his efforts to reform the country's economy and political system. His complex legacy includes both his influence in shaping Iraq's modern history and the controversies surrounding his political career.
