Alcuin was an English cleric, scholar, and teacher during the Carolingian Renaissance. He was a key figure in the revival of learning in Europe, serving as an advisor to Charlemagne and leading efforts to reform education and scriptural studies. Alcuin's work in preserving and transmitting classical knowledge, as well as his contributions to the development of Carolingian minuscule script, made him a significant figure in medieval scholarship and education.
