Derek Barton was a British chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1969 for his work on the theory of chemical reactions and molecular structure. His contributions to the field of organic chemistry and his development of the concept of "conformational analysis" have been influential in advancing the understanding of chemical processes.
