Eddie Rickenbacker was an American aviator and World War I flying ace. Known as one of the top American pilots of the war, he earned the Medal of Honor for his bravery and skill in combat. Rickenbacker's post-war career included ventures in aviation as a businessman and as a promoter of air travel. His contributions to aviation history and his heroics during the war have made him a celebrated figure in American history.
