Gian Carlo Menotti was an Italian-American composer known for his operas and vocal music. His works, including "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and "The Medium," are celebrated for their melodic charm and dramatic expression. Menotti's contributions to opera and his role in founding the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto have made him a significant figure in 20th-century music.
