Ike Turner was an American musician, bandleader, and record producer known for his pioneering contributions to rock and roll and rhythm and blues. He is often credited with recording one of the first rock and roll records, "Rocket 88", and he later achieved fame as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner. Despite his musical success, Turner's legacy is also marred by accounts of his abusive behavior, particularly towards Tina Turner, which has overshadowed his contributions to music.
