James L. Farmer, Jr., an American civil rights leader and co-founder of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), dedicated his life to the fight for racial equality and social justice. His commitment to nonviolent protest and civil disobedience inspired a generation of activists and helped catalyze the civil rights movement of the 1960s.
