John Bachman was an American Lutheran minister, naturalist, and social reformer known for his collaboration with John James Audubon on "The Birds of America." Bachman was instrumental in the study of American wildlife and contributed significantly to the understanding of North American birds and mammals. He was also a strong advocate for education and social justice, particularly in the areas of slavery and Native American rights. Bachman's legacy as a naturalist and humanitarian continues to be honored.
