John Henry Newman was a British clergyman and theologian known for his role in the Oxford Movement, which sought to return the Anglican Church to its Catholic roots. He later converted to Catholicism and was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church. Newman's writings, including his influential work "Apologia Pro Vita Sua," have had a profound impact on Christian theology and ecumenism.
