Luigi Pirandello was an Italian playwright, novelist, and short story writer, best known for his plays "Six Characters in Search of an Author" and "Henry IV." His work is celebrated for its exploration of the nature of identity, reality, and the blurred line between illusion and truth. Pirandello's innovative approach to theater, which often involved breaking the fourth wall and questioning the nature of theatricality itself, earned him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1934.
