Mordechai Vanunu is an Israeli former nuclear technician and whistleblower who revealed details about Israel's nuclear weapons program to the press in 1986. His disclosures, which were published in the British newspaper The Sunday Times, sparked significant international debate about nuclear proliferation. Vanunu was subsequently imprisoned for 18 years, including 11 years in solitary confinement, and has remained a controversial figure due to his activism and the sensitive nature of his revelations.
