Robert Ballard is an American scientist born on June 30, 1942. He is best known for his work in underwater archaeology and oceanography, particularly for discovering the wreck of the Titanic in 1985. Ballard's explorations have advanced our understanding of marine environments and historical shipwrecks. He is also an advocate for ocean conservation and education, inspiring future generations to explore and protect the oceans.
