Rudolf Bing was an Austrian musician and opera manager born on July 9, 1902. He is best known for his role as the general manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, where he served for over twenty years. Bing was instrumental in promoting opera and bringing new productions to the stage. His contributions to the arts have left a lasting impact on the world of opera. Rudolf Bing passed away on September 2, 1997.
