Rudolf Otto was a German theologian born on September 25, 1869. He is best known for his work on the philosophy of religion, particularly his concept of the "numinous," which describes the experience of the divine. Otto's influential book, The Idea of the Holy, explores the nature of religious experience and has had a lasting impact on theology and religious studies. He passed away on March 6, 1937, leaving a significant legacy in the field of religious thought.
