Tom Verlaine is an American musician and songwriter born on December 13, 1949. He is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist of the influential rock band Television, which emerged in the 1970s. Verlaine's innovative guitar work and poetic lyrics helped shape the punk and new wave movements. His solo career has also been successful, with several albums showcasing his unique style. Tom Verlaine is regarded as a significant figure in alternative rock music.
