William Jennings Bryan was an American lawyer and politician born on March 19, 1860. He served as a U.S. Congressman and was a three-time Democratic presidential candidate in the early 20th century. Bryan was known for his strong advocacy of populism, social justice, and anti-imperialism. He played a key role in the Scopes "Monkey" Trial, defending the teaching of evolution in schools. Bryan's dedication to progressive causes and his oratory skills made him a prominent figure in American politics. He passed away on July 26, 1925.
